Auxiliary services of regular and/or reserve armed forces
Auxiliary services of regular and/or reserve armed forces. This would include entities that are typically integrated into the regular or reserve military forces, such the Canadian Rangers or organizations in the U.S. armed forces such as the Women's Army Corps (WAC) and its counterpart Navy WAVES, Coast Guard SPARS and Women in the Air Force (WAF) before women were fully integrated into the U.S. armed forces. Although technically not military personnel, the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II would also fit into this category. Additional unarmed and purely civilian entities in the United States with a military structure and/or military uniforms, but not military status, would include the Civil Air Patrol in its role as the United States Air Force Auxiliary, and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
